Choose how you'll be each day to set yourself up for success

You get to choose how you'll be today, so how will you be?
Now, it might seem like a strange thing to do, or perhaps you think it isn't possible. Besides which, even if you did choose, someone is sure to come along and mess up your day causing your intention to fly out the window.
Like a lot of things in life, it takes practice, but I think you'll agree it's worth it.
Setting an intention, choosing how you'll be, is a powerful way to support and elevate your health.
By becoming more aware of how you want to be, you'll start to make decisions that serve you well. Let's look at an example.
As you drive into town, someone pulls out in front of you from a side road. While it wasn't ideal for the driver to do that, the situation wasn't going to result in an accident. There are two (possibly more) ways you could respond.
You might curse the person for being careless or for being an idiot. You're angry and annoyed, and it makes you grumpy and irritable for the rest of the day. In fact, nothing goes right all day!
An intention to be calm
You're thankful there wasn't an accident and wish the driver of the other vehicle a safe journey. You drive on more aware of what's happening on the road, and you feel calm and peaceful. The rest of your day goes well.
Same situation, two very different outcomes.
By setting an intention for how you'll be you become more aware of what you think, say and do. It focuses your attention and helps you make decisions and take action that supports you to live well.
If your intention is to be calm, focus on what being calm means to you. What does 'calm' look and feel like to you? Being calm might even have a small, taste or sound associated with it. Then make decisions and take action that aligns with being calm.
Whatever it is you want to feel - whether it's calm, focused, relaxed, purposeful, curious, or whatever you choose - immerse yourself in knowing what that means to you.
Decide now how you'll be today and notice the difference that that seemingly simple action makes to your health, life, and business success.
