Conscious living is making conscious choices. It's about DECIDING what's important to you and DEVOTING to how you want to live and work.
But often people focus on just making it through the day, making it to Friday, making it to the end of the month or maybe they're counting down until the end of the year. But guess what happens? The same thing! They just keep going through the motions for their whole life.
They're living but they're not thriving - they're not fully living and enjoying life.
Do you want to thrive? Do you want to feel alive?
A word of caution before we carry on. Thriving and feeling alive doesn't mean there won't be challenging times in your life. Life is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, easy times and challenges. It's just how it is. But when you choose to live consciously, you're better able to navigate through the challenges without feeling so completely and utterly floored by them.
Conscious living doesn't mean you won't face challenges, but it does help you live more purposefully.
When I was at my most stressed, I was so far out of alignment with my values, my purpose and from what was important to me that I wouldn't have even recognised them! The gap between what I knew was right for me and what I thought I should do was huge. As I closed the gap, I started to thrive. I enjoyed life more, my health and relationships (including the relationship with myself) improved and I felt more fulfilled.
What will you choose today?
Every day (in fact, in every moment!) we get to make a choice. Simply react to whatever comes your way or get into the driver's seat, stand in your power and consciously choose who you show up as and how you live and work.
Wow, that's powerful, right?
With Spring just around the corner, now is a great time to start thinking about what conscious living means to you. And let's get super specific, what are you holding onto from the past that's stopping you from living well now? What's got control and power over you?
Maybe it's something big, a past event that was quite traumatic, or perhaps it was a series of small things that compounded over the years. Whatever it is for you, I respectfully ask you to consider this question - Is it time to let it go now so you can live well now?
Conscious living is choosing what you give your attention, energy and focus to. If you're looking backwards, you're missing the opportunities available to you now.
Life is lived in this moment now.
